And I’m in.
It’s warm and different but vaguely familiar.
I start slow, a couple turns.
Get the feel back.
My heart flutters
The music flows
I stutter.
But I speed up,
It just feels right
The course is narrow
The run is tight
But I fight.
I stop and use my light.
Cigarette in hand
It shakes
My thoughts disband
I’m sweating but I don’t stop.
My mind is racing
I’m arriving at my destination.
I don’t know if I can even collect myself to speak,
My voice feels weak,
But I proceed.
Then stop.
I get outta my car,
And there you are.
