Dear Women,
Good morning, I hope you all had a great weekend and have a stellar week. Thought for the week, and it’s a brief one (no, but actually brief this time): “The pen is mightier than the sword” – Edward Bulwer-Lytton. The pen represents communication as a whole. And communication can be far more powerful than confrontation. I discussed earlier in the “Respect” topic several months back that words can often times be more damaging than physical attacks. This time around, and for this week especially, please try and remember that words can also build people up. They can validate. They can uplift. Words can fulfill and words can empower. You can change someone’s morning, someone’s day, someone’s week, year or future with words. Use them wisely. Take as many opportunities as you have afforded to you to do this. Don’t be fake giving compliments or trying to up-lift falsely, but be earnest, be honest, and be true with your words. Tell someone what they mean to you, remind someone that they look great today and appreciate those that appreciate you. Try to understand why some people are having a rough time and give them words of encouragement. Try to understand that the person that may have done or said something that got under your skin is going through a rough time, or maybe doesn’t realize how they’re coming off and “kill them with kindness”. Be that one person who helps to turn their day around, the one person who gave them something to smile or laugh about. Be THAT person. Always be THAT person. If the world was full of more of THOSE people, in the words of Hans Christian Jochimsen, “Oh, what a world that would be.” Help to make it that world. Be that sort of a person to others and I promise you, others will be that sort of a person to you. Be kind. Remind people that in this cruel world, people still care about others, even when they might not even have a reason to. And always strive to be the amazing person that you want to be, that you want others to see you as, that the world needs you to be, and that you truly are. You ARE that person – inside and out. Use this week to show others your beautiful heart and soul. Open it up to others and help to uplift the world, as I was by my best friend doing this for me. Thank you. And thank all of you who help to make people in this world feel as special and beautiful and perfect as they are. And as always; Much Love, Smile On.
Sincerely,
Hopeless Romantics
